The Department of Integrated Global Studies (IGS), School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, established in April 2018, provides a liberal arts and sciences curriculum to develop a diverse approach to exploring and solving current global issues by utilizing an integrative perspective incorporating humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Students study from three fields: "Culture and Tourism," "Peace and Communication," and "Environment and Society."
All courses from enrollment to graduation are conducted in English. Rather than simply "studying English," students "study in English" to acquire English language proficiency. Through this program, they develop the practical skills and intellectual abilities necessary to play an active role in the international community.
Through English-centered specialized subjects, study abroad programs, and practical training at international organizations, students develop the skills required in the global workplace. After graduation, they aim to work in multicultural coexistence education and international educational cooperation at educational institutions, international cooperation organizations, NGOs/NPOs, etc., both in Japan and abroad.
