Program Overview
The Kyoto University International Undergraduate Program (Kyoto iUP) is a 4.5-year international program comprising a 6-month preparatory course and 4 years of undergraduate study.
• Preparatory Course (6 Months): Intensive Japanese classes and pre-foundation subjects in Science, Mathematics, and humanities depending on your major
• Years 1-2: Liberal arts and sciences courses and foundational courses taught in English and/or Japanese alongside Japanese students
• Years 3-4: Specific subjects in your majors taught mainly or exclusively in Japanese
*While no Japanese language proficiency is required at the time of application, Kyoto iUP students will study their chosen majors in Japanese to earn their bachelor's degree.

Financial Support
• Full admission and full or partial tuition fee waivers for 4.5 years
• A monthly allowance of up to JPY 120,000 during the preparatory course
• Merit-based monthly allowances from a variety of supporting companies and organizations for eligible students during the undergraduate course
